Morse Code - the Telegraphic Revolution

Dots and dashes are the secret of Samuel Morse's famous invention. However, the communication system he invented can also work with a flash of light, sounds, or electrical impulses.

Today, it is most often used by amateur radio operators. The Morse code has been significantly changed, changes have been made to make the invention more useful in modern communication. Most pilots and controllers are familiar with Morse code.

Dots and dashes

The Morse code is based on a ternary system: no signal - short signal - long signal. Each character is represented by a series of long and short signals consisting of several elements. Long lines are dotted lines, and short lines are dots. The shortest duration of the jerk should be equal to the duration of the three points. The gap between the elements of the sign should not be longer than the duration of one period. The distance between individual characters is one dash, and the distance between groups of characters is three dashes.

Samuel Morse's first hobby (born April 21, 1791 in Charlestown and died April 2, 1872 in New York) was painting, which he studied with the famous American artist Washington Allston. He then enrolled at Yale University, where he attended lectures on electricity. During his studies, he earned his living by painting portraits. In 1810, he graduated, and a year later accompanied his teacher Alston on a trip to Europe.

It was Mose who invented the wireless telegraph, he was the first to patent and present the telegraph - first at the Philadelphia Institute, then to US President Martin Buren (however, he was not the inventor of this means of communication). He collaborated with Alfred Weil, a Yale University student who attended a demonstration of the telegraph and expressed a desire to collaborate with whoever patented it in developing an alphabet that would eventually be named after him.
